Deceit and Intrigue

Demonism kept winning,
Humanity kept losing,
Darkness kept spreading,
And suffocation continued.

Earlier, daughters-in-law were burnt
By the terror of the demon of dowry,
Today even husbands are dying
In the intrigues of lovers.

The standards of a happy society
Keep changing with time,
Affection, respect, and contentment—
All are facing defeat.

Distortions have become
The lifeblood of the mainstream,
The wicked rejoice here,
While the honest remain troubled.

Human greed has become endless,
There is no knowledge of its beginning or end,
What will finally make us content?
We must search for that somewhere.

Cutting, killing, and grabbing—
These are the traits of demons,
Their rule is spreading,
While the rest of the people keep weeping.

This is the state of the whole world,
Whichever way you look,
All countries, big and small,
Are being pushed into wars.

Following absurd policies,
They serve their own interests,
By snatching away others’ wealth,
They fill their own coffers.

What shall I gain? What shall I do?
Shall I claim authority over the world?
Going beyond the limits of profit,
Shall I seek a hundred percent gain?
