Early humans once lived
In caves beside water springs,
Seeking shelter and comfort
Amidst life’s simplest needs.
There was no means of storing food,
Survival itself was hard;
They ran towards the river again and again,
Whenever thirst left them parched.
From those humble beginnings,
Look how far we have come today!
A variety of dishes and drinks
Are now just a button away.
In an instant, we can connect
With people across the world;
Through video calls and Zoom meetings,
We can talk face to face, wherever they are.
Yet we are never satisfied;
Much still remains to be achieved.
To disappear and reappear at will,
To move at the speed of thought,
To transform our very forms—
These dreams are yet to be fulfilled.
We dream of travelling to every planet
The moment we desire;
We wish that everyone might possess
The power to fly through the skies.
Whatever we have achieved so far
Still seems so little to us.
In our pursuit of progress,
We forget how much effort it takes.
We know the stories of the past,
But the future remains unknown.
Will our dreams become reality,
Or will the world itself be lost?
To turn the Earth into heaven,
To discover extraordinary powers,
We struggle, strive and sacrifice—
As though we aspire to become God Himself.
