Even when darkness is deep,
And no path is visible,
When thorns lie at every step,
And moving forward seems impossible—
Never give up.
When loved ones are drifting away,
And your heart finds no peace,
When an invitation comes wrapped in insult,
And you have no resources at hand—

When tomorrow is uncertain,
And there is only enough food for today,
When the family is burdened with worries,
And earning a living is a challenge—

When you have to hold up falling walls,
Drive away the wicked,
Put fire into water,
Or pour water upon fire—

When someone is cutting the very roots,
Dividing families apart,
Pouring buttermilk upon the roots,
And destroying everything in their path—

Amid difficulties and turmoil,
When circumstances rise and fall,
Light a little lamp of hope
And hold firmly to the promise of tomorrow—

Walking the difficult path is life;
Patience, faith, and contentment are its wealth.
Hold on to them throughout your life,
